Tired of your fruitless attempts at trying to wear a thin line of eyeliner while each time ending up with a thick smudgy mess of eyes? Do you always find yourself wondering just how some girls manage to apply a thin neat line so expertly everyday without making a mess? Well, you are not the only one in this.

 

Applying eyeliner thinly along your lashes is indeed a challenge but one that you can overcome easily with the right techniques and tools. Thinly applied eyeliner has a more natural look for daytime wear and always looks far better than the messy thick coating on the lids. Most of you end up wearing thick eyeliner when your desperately endless attempts at drawing a thin line are ruined by inappropriate eyeliners for this purpose.

 

Surely, in the beginning learning the art of applying the eyeliner thinly can be a challenge. With some practice of the following techniques, you will easily get the hang of it and in no time you will only need to swipe your hand across both eyes once and voila!

  • First of all, you will need an eyeliner pencil to apply eye-liner thinly. We recommend eyeliner pencils because they can be easily sharpened to achieve a fine and sharp tip which is needed for applying a thin line. Never dream of applying a thin eyeliner if your eyeliner pencil or any other liquid eyeliner has a blunt or thick tip. Hence, get an eyeliner pencil and a sharpener!
  • Secondly, close your eye, while peering from the other and start applying the eyeliner from the inside of the eye close to the lash line. Start making a series of tiny dots almost touching the lash line as you go towards the outer corner of the eye. While making these dots, make sure you are not pressing the eyeliner pencil too hard as we do not want to make any messy mistakes. Touch on the dotted line you have made close to the lash line lightly and start connecting the dots softly. You can try making it darker with more strokes along the lash line in slow small strokes with the thin tip of your eyeliner pencil. Try the same on the lower lash line if you want.
  • If there are any fluctuations in the lines that you do not want, grab a cotton swab, dip it in some make up remover and run it along the line to neaten the edges. That should make it thinner. If it gets too thin, you can always make it thicker. Good luck!
